(Untitled)

the sun burns in you,

and i soar,

your own personal icarus.

angels fall,

and i am devastatingly in love with you.

wings of wax melt,

and i fear they make a mockery of me.

i will withstand the scrutiny of heaven,

if it means one more moment with you.

the eyes of the angels bear down on me

and i fall

away from pearly gates,

and into your eyes that beckon me.

seconds, years pass,

and still i fall,

not caught but by my own eternal hell,

forever in your eyes,

never enough in your mind.

death do be my dole

for i never will rest within your soul.

fiery shackles bind both my wrists and my heart.

for you’re the condemnor

and i remain the cursed.
